Another observation from my Olympic viewing

Last night I realized that in male gymnastics, unlike female gymnastics, there is no music during the floor exercise. I wonder if having music would make it too feminine...?

I'm pretty sure that I love Michael Phelps... can you blame me? I can't believe how much I'm into the Olympics this time. The opening ceremonies were incredible! Maybe it's just the American media, but I'm feeling struck by the unique unity that the Olympics seem to embody. And then there are athletes like Michael Phelps. Tonight I found myself cheering quite loudly at my television for the men's relay team. I was so happy that they won! Not because they are American (I tend to be happy for the winner no matter what country they represent) but because it means that Michael still has a chance to achieve his goal of 8 gold metals.

So- Yay Michael! Not only do I love you, but so does the President of the United States.
